I'm a bit late to the party, but...

Can you explain (or give pointers to an explanation) what the
argumentation here is? How does not adhering to relevant standards
simplify configuration?

I'm sure I'm missing something here, just dunno what.


The biometric identification system at the gates of the CIA headquarters
works because there's a guard with a large gun making sure no one is
