Fine, that’s not something a newbie should be doing.

Wrong. They are much more valuable than bugs in testing only, since they
help us see whether some Conflicts/Replaces have been missed.
Furthermore, a user with such a setup can easily upgrade a package to
unstable before reporting a bug that’s already fixed.
