I do the same, release as non-native. However, I do not think we should
mandate that everybody does the same, as other people may have different
views on what workflow works best for them. And it's not, after all,
such a big deal.

I'll note that, albeit a bit ugly, you can easily upload such changes
without a new upstream version, just by re-uploading foo_1.2.3.tar.gz as
foo_1.2.3.orig.tar.gz plus foo_1.2.3-1.diff.gz, should there ever be the
need.
