Bug#440017: ITP: irssi-plugin-xmpp -- XMPP plugin for irssi

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-devel@lists.debian.org

   Package name: irssi-plugin-xmpp
        Version: 0.13
Upstream Author: Colin Didier <errtu@cybione.org>
            URL: http://cybione.org/src/irssi-xmpp/
        License: GPL
    Description: XMPP plugin for irssi
An irssi plugin to connect to the Jabber network, using the XMPP protocol.
 .
Its aim is to provide a good integration in this text-based irc client and a
 good support of XMPP.
 .
 Current main features are:
  - Sending and receiving messages in irssi's query windows
  - A roster with contact's ressources tracking (contact list)
  - Contact management (add, remove, manage subscriptions...)
  - Contact's JIDs, ressources and commands completion (TAB key)
  - Multiple accounts support (in different connection)
  - Unicode support (UTF-8)
  - SSL support

Given that the program is still quite young, I'm not sure whether there should
be a Debian package for it yet. The developer is very active though.

I'm hosting an experimental version of the package here:
http://da.weeno.net/code/debian/pool/main/i/irssi-plugin-xmpp/

I would like some advice about whether irssi-xmpp should make it into unstable
yet, as well as some feedback about the package itself.

Thanks.
