I have never used the "Mail Server" task in tasksel. And unless I have
special needs (which I do) I would just choose it and be curious what it
installed.
But that leaves the user with the typical reaction I see every day: "I have
installed the package. Now what?" What packages get installed by this
task? I usually point users to aptitude so they can explore the tasks. But
that's one step too late.
What I have seen in other distributions: they use a global selector
like "tasksel" and then let the user fine-tune the selection of packages.

Because the installer uses it.
