Bug#378626: ITP: pulseaudio -- networked sound server

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Loic Minier <lool@dooz.org>

        Hi,

* Package name    : pulseaudio
  Version         : 0.9.2
  Upstream Author : Lennart Poettering, Pierre Ossman
* URL             : http://www.pulseaudio.org/
* License : LGPL, some parts have GPL deps
  Programming Lang: C, Python
  Description     : networked sound server

 PulseAudio, previously known as Polypaudio, is a networked sound
 server.
 .
 A sound server is basically a proxy for your sound applications. It
 allows to do advanced operations on sound data as it passes between
 application and hardware. Things like transferring the audio to a
 different machine, changing the sample format or channel count and
 mixing several sounds into one are easily achieved using a sound
 server.

 I do not intend to re-use the Ubuntu PolypAudio packages.

 There's room for co-maintenance, I intend to use an Alioth project.

   Bye,
