There are a whole host of commands which can be set using e-mail; I'm
not averse to adding a link to subscribe to the bug, but adding
unnecessary verbiage on every single page seems pointless to me.

It is documented in the usage guides for the bts how to do this; I
suppose it would be possible to make a page with all of the different
things you can do to a bug with the bug numbers filled in already...
but since I don't find such a thing particularly useful, I'm not the
one to design it.
