RE: python2.3/2.4 installation failure (and workaround)
Your workaround does, as it seems, not workaround, if the mess already
happened:
I got the know error when dist-upgrading the system today:
dpkg: error processing python2.4-minimal (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of python-minimal:
python-minimal depends on python2.3 (>= 2.3.5-1); however:
Package python2.3 is not configured yet.

Now trying your workaround I get this:
