Re: Re: removal of svenl from the project
Hi Pierre,
just so that we are clear, I consider your first mail a personal insult
already, especially given that your decision is based on irc logs.
dilinger's proposition is certainly personal, as it targets only Sven
and fortunately not the whole Project. It doesn't have to be an insult
though. Should someone feel insulted to be rejected from NM? I don't
think so, it's merely an indication that the person lacks either
technical or social skills to contribute to Debian positively. I think
that being expulsed from the Project is the same thing, except that it
happens after NM failed to identify the issue at the ideal moment, or
after something in the developer's personal life placed him in an
psychological state where his social skills become inadequately low for
participation in Debian.
But even if it's an insult, dilinger's decision is not (solely) based on
IRC logs. I won't learn you that both Andres and Sven are members of the
kernel team since a long time, so you can guess that Andres interacted
with Sven on more than two occasions. As clarified by dilinger's second
post, the IRC logs mentionned are only examples.
