Hi Debian developers! ----- Forwarded message from Patrick Caulfield <patrick@debian.org> ----- Subject: Bug#293149: Please install libsysfs in /lib Reply-To: Patrick Caulfield <patrick@debian.org>, 293149@bugs.debian.org From: Patrick Caulfield <patrick@debian.org> To: Debian Bug Tracking System <submit@bugs.debian.org> Date: Tue, 01 Feb 2005 13:20:08 +0000 X-Spam-Status: No, score=0.1 required=4.0 tests=FORGED_RCVD_HELO autolearn=no version=3.0.2 Package: libsysfs1 Version: 1.2.0-1 Severity: normal Please can you move libsysfs into /lib ? The multipath tools rely on this library for device identification and they really need to be started before /usr is mounted if it is on a different partition. ----- End forwarded message ----- libsysfs is small (about 39 KB), does not have any dependencies other than libc6, and tools querying /sys during bootup (when /usr/ is not yet available) are reasonable, so I'm not opposed to doing this. Is there any opposing opinion? Should this be done now / post Sarge / never?
