there is kppp (?) for KDE, and i'm SURE i've seen a similar one with
gnome...  of course on the otherhand, i don't know of any others which
would have similar bindings (i.e. if you are on a desktop that has low
HD, you don't exactly want all the KDE/Gnome libs!)
