Setting goals is the easy part of release management.

Ensuring that the goals are met is the hard part of the work of a
release manager.

This is the third officially announced release date for sarge that gets
a wider media coverage.

The December 1st 2003 date was missed because the development of the
installer took more than a year longer than expected.

The September 15th 2004 date was missed because the security
infrastructure for testing took more than 6 months instead of only
6 days.

I'm sure you've learned from these two fiascos, and you've done
everything to ensure that you will not miss your milestone dates.

Can you tell about the possible risks that may affect your release plan
and what you have done to ensure that they will not delay your release
plan?

TIA
Adrian
