Yes...  I did not know "aptitude dist-upgrade" was different from "apt
dist-upgrade".  The woody aptitude manpage does not mention any command
line directive, and the sid manpage does not document the dist-upgrade
target, this is bug #268697.

For woody the recommend way was to use dselect, but this is an
interactive command so I could not use it in an automated test
framework.

FWIW, upgrading with dselect works, but installs all the recommends (as
expected).
