As Jacob said, what you have isn't really RAID.  It's software RAID
(meaning, all the work is done on the host CPU, not on the IDE chip),
which loads a BIOS extension so that it works automatically in MS-DOS
and derivatives.  The Windows driver is also software RAID.  If you
paid extra money for the "RAID" feature, someone cheated you. :(

Unless you need to access the same RAID configuration between Linux and
some other OS, like Windows XP, you are best off ignoring the "RAID"
features and running the card purely as an IDE controller.  (You can
set up native Linux software RAID, same as you would with any other set
of IDE disks.)

If you *do* need to share a RAID partition with a legacy OS, see
questions 8 and 9 on the web page above.  As far as I know, Debian
doesn't have tools packaged for either solution mentioned.
