Question about Debian package "verse"

The description from apt for the verse package is this:

Description: Daily Devotional Verse from KJV Bible
 Verse displays a Bible Verse on each login. A verse from the King James
 Version of the Bible is assigned to each day.

However, today I noticed the following discrepancy:

verse output for today (20041219):

$ verse
     "And the angel said to her, " Do not be afraid, Mary;
      for you have found favor with God. And behold, you
      will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you
      shall name Him Jesus." Luke 1:30,31

bible-kjv output for same verses:

$ bible lu1:30,31

Luke 1

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour
with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and
shalt call his name JESUS.

Clearly, the two do not match. I am wondering why the description for
verse says its verses are from the KJV. I have check my KJV Bible and
the language matches only the output from the bible-kjv package.
Judging by the language, the verse package is using a NKJV text.
Could someone verify that (I don't own a NKJV Bible)? If that is the
case, shouldn't the description be updated to reflect the correct
version of the Bible it uses?
