As already said, the provides of the type-handling package solve the
problem in a way that should be acceptable for both of us [1].

There is still the point that Recommends can be treated like a
Depends by package management tools [2].
In this context, it can't be ignored.

[1] the dependency of type-handling on dpkg-dev is a current problem,
but this should be easily solvable
[2] no matter that dselect no longer does it
