I tried that too. As well as different filesystems ext2, ext3, and reiser. This drive is 40 GB and someone else on the debian-user list said they specifically had problems on 40 GB drives as well. Would that have something to do with it?Rob Benton wrote:Here's what I've found. Using a sarge iso from 2 weeks ago and an iso dated today I've run into problems trying to boot from the new install. Using d-i to partition a new slave drive and then installing grub (either from d-i or booting from floppy and using a grub shell) results in an unbootable partition with just a "GRUB " prompt.Try adding a small /boot partition near the front of the drive.
Since I was able to install using a woody CD what I'm thinking about doing is using cfdisk to partition this HD and then doing the install w/sarge CD.
