please stop the dh_makeshlibs -V madness
Blindly using dh_makeshlibs -V in packages is preventing hundreds of
packages from entering testing. Consider this scenario:
- package foobar, which uses libquux, is uploaded to sid.
- 10 days pass, but foobar still did not enter testing because one of
the autobuilders was a bit behind.
- a new libquux is uploaded to unstable.
- foobar gets built on the last architecture.
If libquux uses dh_makeshlibs -V, foobar needs to wait another 10
days to enter testing! This is simply not acceptable, no change to
a library (except a rather bad packaging error, or a very specific
library) should justify the use of the -V flag without an argument.
I am really FED UP with having to wait MONTHS until packages with
zero bugs enter testing because of this carelessness.
