I'm sorry to have to tell you that, but that method really doesn't work.
I constantly get error messages like the following:

  ftp://ftp.sf.net/pub/sourceforge/a/an/and/ failed: 500
LWP::Protocol::MyFTP: connect: Connection refused
-- Scan finished

Maybe I am missing something?
