The NM process *is* a problem (check on d.nm for how long the weekly
status report says "0 applicants became maintainers" ... since March!).

However, (a) the flamethrowers are pointed elsewhere at the moment,
(b) most of the problems being a not-quite-maintainer entails are
easily workaroundable, and (c) Debian has more urgent problems to fix, at
least until Sarge is released, and then the DAM will (hopefully) have more
time for NM.
