This is the sample implementation included in the Microsoft RTF
specification, available from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/office/understanding/word/tools/default.aspx

Version 1.8 (the current version) has a license that, if I understand it
correctly, does not allow distribution of modified source code. Version
1.7 does not seem to allow distribution at all.
