"Somaplayer is a music player for MP3, Ogg Vorbis, audio CD, and
streaming media formats able to use appropriate drivers or daemons to
stream directly to an Icecast (or Shoutcast) server, or encode MP3 or
Ogg Vorbis files.

Also included is SDS (Soma Daemon Sound), which is able to accept
connections from multiple instances of Somaplayer at the same time, or
other streaming-enabled players such as XMMS. The connected sources are
then streamed or encoded as above."
