PHP pear modules for Debian

Hi,

in message

   http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2004/debian-devel-200402/msg01713.html

started a thread about packaging php pear modules. I have a special
interest but absolutely know knowledge about PHP and thus I'm not
qualified to take over this job.

The situation is as follows: The medical practice management system
FreeMed needs some php pear modules. The author of FreeMed provides
some packages in a private repository which are available at

    deb http://apt.freemedsoftware.com/debian woody fsf

These packages have several policy problems and need some work but as
I said I have never used PHP and thus I would like to leave this to
more expeienced developers. I would love if someone would step in here
and bring this stuff to reasonable packages which are uploadable to
the Debian mirror. If I understand Jeff right he would be willing
to take over maintainership and needs just sponsoring and a helping
hand in the initial step to get it uploaded.

Kind regards

         Andreas.

PS: Jeff, I did not found an upstream URL in your packages. Could you
    please comment on this.
