Re: buildd, weird tar problem and failure

[ Sunday 18 April 2004 09.48 ]
| Hi
|
| I am the maintainer of several packages
| I uploaded a new version freefem3d yesterday and buildd failed
| after looking at the log I got this
|
| dpkg-source: extracting freefem3d in freefem3d-1.0pre3
| tar: ./PaxHeaders.8890/freefem3d-1.0pre3: Unknown file type 'x', extracted
| as normal file
| tar: freefem3d-1.0pre3/PaxHeaders.8890/README: Unknown file type 'x',
| extracted as normal file
| tar: freefem3d-1.0pre3/PaxHeaders.8890/Makefile.in: Unknown file type 'x',
| extracted as normal file
| tar: freefem3d-1.0pre3/PaxHeaders.8890/configure: Unknown file type 'x',
| extracted as normal file
| ...
|
| for more details see (it is the same on all platforms)
| http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.php?&pkg=freefem3d&ver=1.0pre3-1&arch=alpha&;
|stamp=1082194809&file=log&as=raw
|
| For each extraction, there is this 'PaxHeaders.8890' that appears (which is
| not present in my tarball of course), then buildd fails lamentably to
| compile freefem3d. Could anyone enlight me on this ? I have no idea where
| it comes from.

It worked properly for one architecture : m68k
all the other ones failed with the message above

any hint at all ?

I believe it is a problem on buildd side and not mine !
will buildd try again to recompile the package ?

Best regards
C.
