Bug#243357: ITP: ipfreeze -- daemon handling on-the-fly blacklisting for netfilter
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
* Package name : ipfreeze
Version : 0.4.8
Upstream Author : Gregoire HUBERT <greg@coolkeums.org>
* URL : http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/yaffl/
* License : GPL
Description : Daemon handling on-the-fly blacklisting for netfilter
ipfreeze is part of the yaffl project. It depends on libnetpacket-perl and
libipq-perl, not yet available in Debian, to be ITP'd separately. In the
meantime preliminary debs, and the ipfreeze one when it's available, are to
be found at http://ydirson.free.fr/soft/debian/netfilter/
This perl script listens on the netlink device for packets that are passed
by the firewall (QUEUE target). If a packet is sent, ipfreeze get the source
IP and insert a new rule in the firewall that will destroy every packets
coming from that IP. This rule is automatically removed after a
user-definable period (usually 10 or 20min).
