I understand your point but I do not like double standards, so if you
will remove these drivers from the kernel package I will file RC bugs
against all the appropriate packages requesting the removal of other
drivers containing firmwares or other binary blobs of unexplained origin.

(This would also mean that a knoppix CD will continue to be my favourite
debian installer, tg3 is a driver I consider essential.)
