That's wrong, there is no hardware raid in this chips. It just provides
a different software-raid implementation. BTW, did you through -legal
with this? It's hard to believe the driver is not a derived work of the
kernel. And even if it wasn't it would still be part GPL and part
propritary in a single object file..
