proper way of dependency on python-extlass?

Hi!

I am the new co-maintainer of zorp. I have a (probably
dumb) question to you.

Zorp depends on python-extclass. This fact cannot be seen from
shlibs:Depends, so a dependency is added by hand (currently
 python-extclass (>= 1.2-1) ).

That can mean any python version with its python-extclass
from 1.5 to (at least) 2.3. One of my users told me that
it isn't good, and it seems to be true. What should I
depend on?
My build dependencies right now (which should be thought through also):
Build-Depends: python-dev (>= 1.5.2), python-extclass (>=1.2-1),
libssl-dev (>=0.9.6c-1), libglib2.0-dev, libzorpll-dev (>= 2.0.26.18),
debhelper (>=3), libcap-dev
Build-Conflicts: python2.1

Thank you for your help.
