I would definitely hate to have a default icon in my menus. I find
it as annoying as undocumented(7). What is the purpose of having an
icon for Apps->Shells->Bash anyway? Most of my packages have icons
because I drew them myself and because I thought having an icon would
serve a real purpose, but some of them do not have one and I definitely
do not want them to have one, because there are programs for which the
program name of the program is the only meaningful element.

Maybe we could ask for contributors for packages that really need
icons. I am certain that there are many people who are not busy coding
but have excellent graphical skills. Maybe the debian-desktop people
could handle a call for artists?

Regards,
Sam.
