Everything else would > be confusing IMHO. yes indeed you are right ...but..:-) [note: do not think we are trying to differentiate or else we simply try to get things working and in a simple way and try to get around problems we face...ok back to the kernel] Our kernel image does have: 1- two versions, one with acpi patch and one with apm (untill lerne 2.4.20 there is no other way than having all-in-one (no-tm) ) 2- various patches built in low latency - preempt and soon, probably couple of more because we decide to use desktop project as desktop. So following the debian policy on kernel name our kernel would result in a name longer than my emails...:-) We think considered that and decided to compress all this under a simple kernel-<number-architecture-acpi-or-apm-demudi_>.deb ..and still is long. in the description (apt short and large description) + in the demudi site that will be explained. ciao, marco -- ************************************************************************ * marco trevisani * * http://trevisani.mine.nu marco@centrotemporeale.it * * http://www.agnula.org -- A GNU/Linux Audio Distribution * * Neither MS-Word nor MS-PowerPoint attachments please: * * See http://www.fsf.org/philosophy/no-word-attachments.html * * Gpg Fingerprint = 6096 84B8 046C A5C9 B538 255E 9FFF 1121 3AFB FFA6 * ************************************************************************
