You might also want to take a look at amavis-ng which allows scanning
via embedded perl in the exim system filter. there is a .deb available
from the sourceforge site, and it will be uploaded to sid RSN.

We are already working on an interface that allows amavis-ng to
operate via exim4's local_scan function.

Since exim 3.x is no more actively developed, I surely hope that Mike
Markley is preparing exim 4 packages for Debian.
