Yeah. As I mentioned in Toronto, I'd like to see the "UTF-8" slang
become the default in sarge. Basically that just means dropping the
non-utf8 libslang-dev package and replacing it with libslang-utf8-dev.
We can keep the old runtime libraries around as long as they are needed
for compatibility,
