The resources themselves (ie: internet connection...) are donated I believe and not owned by Debian (or SPI or whatever it is). When I said 'ftp maintainers' I was really meaning 'hosting sponsors and the like', though for some reason I kind of associated them together in my head. I guess that's in part because I was thinking of mirrors where the admin of the mirror and the sponsor are part of the same group/organization/company. I admit I don't really know exactly how that all works though. Stephen
