Bug#143038: mICQ segfauls at start.

Package: micq
Version: 0.4.8.pl2-1
Severity: serious

When logging for first time, micq is supposed to ask for both uin and
passwd, but when entering uin it goes directly to proxy question leaving
blank passwd, then it exits without error. When trying to enter micq it
should ask for password but it segfaults.

I notice micq is already in woody. IMHO micq isn't ready at this moment
for a stable release (too buggy, poor support for v8), severity set to
serious. According to maintainer notes at mailing list it doesn't even
support receiving messages via tcp. Take a look at:
http://micq.ukeer.de/pipermail/micq-list/2002-March/000503.html
Do you think it should stay in woody and get in the next stable release?
I know micq was in potato, but there are other console clients.
vicq is a good replacement and it resembles pretty well look and feel of
micq. It has been in woody for at least 3 months without problems.
