For a Debian developer, you seem particularly clueless.
Please allow me to clue you in: At this point of time, when people
talk about the kernel, they are genrally talking about the Linux
kernel. You really ought to get out off you HURD shell and learn a
bit about Debian.
From the Pro 350 Pocket Service Guide, p. 49, Step 5 of the
instructions on removing an I/O board from the card cage, comes a new
experience in sound: Turn the handle to the right 90 degrees. The
pin-spreading sound is normal for this type of connector.
