Can you give any indication why it would be < 0.5%? It seems like a very
self serving statistic.

Frankly, I feel you're being a little hypocritical here. YIFF adds
nothing to Debian, and the one program that uses it should be fixed to
use a sound system that someone might actually be running. While I'm
sure that there are some people who prefer lpe, it's yet another editor,
and not one of the more highly used ones. (Out of the popcon users,
there are 9 people who have used lpe recently, compared to 400 for
emacs20 and 800 for vim.) If you believe there are too many packages in
Debian, look to your own packages first.
