Useless is defined by the user.  I think Perl is useless, because there
are other languages that does everything it does, and do it a lot
cleaner.  Obviously, many many people are going to disagree with my
tastes.

Honestly, having this program in Debian isn't much of a problem, so far
as I can see.  The only bit I'd get worried at is the CD
distributions... But there you have the option to only get the CD's you
need, in order of importance (as I understand it, anyways, but Gods
above know I've been wrong on that a lot).

So then people try to apt-get some application that is "linked" from
Debian, the server it is located on is down, or worse yet, the owner of
the site uploaded a bad (buggy, invalid, trojaned, etc.) package, and
Debian gets blamed for shoddy packaging?
