I concur with A, but I don't see how B is bad -- it's been working just fine
on other things so far. Also, C is not a problem -- packages.d.o only
contains information contained in the Packages, Sources and Contents files,
all of which are available on every Debian mirror.

Well, by all means, do it, but until you're done we can still get the
mentioned problem fixed in the meantime.
