There's enough flamewars on gcc@gcc.gnu.org about GCC not doing what
the Linux kernel expects ("obvious", albeit not standards compliant)
that I hate encourage more non-standards compliant code. Just write
standards compliant code, and you'll never have to worry about wierd
but legal compilers and enviroments, especially when they happen to be
the next release of your working enviroment.
