  You can change the index format, the default is:
  
    set index_format="%4C %Z %{%b %d} %-15.15L (%4l) %s"
                                             -
					     %L list-from function
  
  mine is:
  
    set index_format="%4C %Z %{%d/%m} %-15.15F (%4c) %s"
                                             -
					     %F author name, or recipient name
					        if the message is from you

  I use 'L' and see the from in the index screen.
