Which makes it a bug in the new suidregister stuff (since it doesn't
provide all the appropriate software to be compatible with old packages);
and it's also a bug which has been fixed in 0.52 which is in both testing
and unstable.

So the right solution is to upgrade suidregister to a version that's not
broken.
