None. It's your call, you should do whatever you feel is best for you. If
your reason for using Debian is this weak, and your skin that easy to
scratch, you'll probably be better off using something else.

In other words, Branden seems to be telling you the bug has been already
fixed in a new version of the package, and that it was widely announced
everywhere.

BTW, if you run anything but testing, you really, really, really should be
reading debian-devel. And you also really should try to update your system
before reporting a bug, they get fixed very fast in unstable.
