Aye. I think you're right. Actually upstream just informed me that
Ogg/Vorbis is now the default there, too.
He wasn't very active over the last two years or so, but seems quite
determined to get all issues resolved now. So by the time the next
release is done (and I have written the promised manpage), I'll have
a look at the Ogg/Vorbis support and decide if 'Depends: vorbis-tools'
is feasable. It surely is a worthy goal.
But I'll keep at least a pointer to Jack's potential to alternatively
encode mp3s around, some people depend on this for their portable
equipment, for example.
