I have not wanted to contribute to this ...prolonged discussion.  But
if silence is to be taken as agreement with whoever shouts loudest, I
suppose I must stick my oar in.

If things are being done concerning my packges I want to know about it.
I do not want to risk missing information in which I might be interested,
therefore I prefer opt-out to opt-in.
