Bug#110505: Cannot find (hd0) device with new update.

Package: grub
Version: 0.90-7
Priority: important

After latest update GRUB shell does no more detect my ATA disk, this is
true when grub command is called (after booting).
Moreover, the first reboot today failed with GRUB prompt hold on for ever...
Just rebooted with and old grub floppy disk from potato to have a
working system.

This is the result at grub shell prompt:

grub> root (hd0,7)

Error 21: Selected disk does not exist

grub>

and of course:

Kernel command line: root=/dev/hda7 ro mem=131072K
ide0: BM-DMA at 0x2040-0x2047, BIOS settings: hda:DMA, hdb:pio
hda: ST320414A, ATA DISK drive
hda: 39102336 sectors (20020 MB) w/2048KiB Cache, CHS=38792/16/63

After booting with the old boot floppy, I installed again stage1/stage2
of the NEW GRUB version and all went ok for booting, but grub shell
is yet not working. Previous package was ok.
