kernel versions and vtun package, suggestions wanted.

i've got a package called vtun.

version 2.4 works with kernels up to and including 2.4.5

version 2.5b1 works with kernels 2.4.6 and above.

i'd like vtun to work regardless of what kernel is installed. any
suggestions on the best way to deal with this?

i've packaged the new version but haven't uploaded it yet because of
this kernel version dependancy.
