My personal opinion: remove the current ALSA packages and repackage it
completely from scratch. Some things may be repeated, but only few. The
current packages are designed without the beta status in mind, not
considering the probability of API- and ABI-changes (and the ALSA-people
surpsised to many times). The latest generation (packaging 0.9x) is
better, but still does not have a clear version numbering and contains
to much crap from old alsa packages.

Talk to the maintainer. Currently, I do not use ALSA, but I could help
packaging if someone wishes me to do the task.
