Currently the best idea, IMHO. There may be some KEY-packages, that are
not handled by APT so the user would have to install them manually if
he knows what he does. The Athlon'ized packages could be stored in
.../projects/ or in an other non-official place, using version
numbers like -1.athlon.3, -2.athlon.1, etc.

There is still one thing that should be changed on APT to move
downgrades (to pure i386) smooth: if a specificied package is to be
removed, apt should look in other source for the same package (even in
an "older" version) that does not depend on the specified package (here:
arch-i386-athlon).
