Adrian, Hi,,, first, could you tell me why bsdutils (or bsdmainutils) are needed in debian? Are these small items ported from bsd userland? is there any reasonable replacement for them, i.e., from the GNU project? (not expecting same within any length of time; just curious as to why it should be bsdutils) second, aren't people going to try to do multilanguage stuff during install, and if so, doesn't this make locales essential still? -Jim
