tar-1.13 buggy?

Acording to the documentation on the yacdbak homepage
http://yacdbak.sourceforge.net/
gnu tar version 1.13 (current on debian) is buggy. to
quote:
"Do not use tar version 1.13 for restoring as it is
buggy at least in two aspects: it does no recognize
the --tape-length argument correctly, and it does not
extract incrementally backed up files to the proper
place. Version 1.12 seems to be work ok."

Does anyone know if these problems have been fixed in
the version on Potato or Testing? Maybe I should down
grade to version 1.12.
